You know safety is important. Preston Hyundai, serving the greater Boardman, OH area knows it. And most importantly, Hyundai knows it, and they've demonstrated it by featuring six 2012 models in their lineup that have been named as Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) "Top Safety Picks."
Being named a "Top Safety Pick" by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is no small feat either. To qualify, a vehicle must first feature Electronic Stability Control (ESC) as a standard feature, and not an optional one. It must also pass a stringent series of tests that are aimed at measuring how well a vehicle holds up in front, side, rollover, and rear collisions. And believe us when we say that the bar is set high on these tests. The bar, however, was not set too high for the likes of Hyundai, as the South Korean automaker sent in a total of six models that conquered the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's challenges.
What models made the cut? In no specific order, they are the Hyundai Elantra, Sonata, Genesis, Equus, Tucson, and Santa Fe. This lineup of top safety picks features a wide range of segments from compacts to crossovers and everything in between, which proves that Hyundai is truly focused on the safety of every driver on the road today.
"For the second year running a record number of models qualify," says Institute president Adrian Lund. "It's tough to win, and we commend auto manufacturers for making safety a top priority."1
